27 March 2018, Monrovia, Liberia | UN Photo - Albert Gonzalez Farran

Traditional Liberian communicators welcome the arrival of Farid Zarif, Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of the United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL), during the farewell for the peacekeeping mission in the streets of Monrovia. The traditional communicators, members of eleven cultural organisations, have been hired by the Public Information Office in UNMIL for the past months to disseminate messages on the UNMIL termination, scheduled for 30 March, and to announce that the United Nations, through its agencies, will continue to support the country in its efforts to work towards a sustainable peace and to ensure access to education, healthcare, food security, and humanitarian and development assistance.
